Late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, KK Singh, has expressed support for the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Disha Salian’s father, seeking a fresh probe into her death. Singh stated that he hopes this legal move will bring clarity to both cases.
“I don’t know his reasons for approaching the court, but what he has done is right. If this can help determine whether it was suicide or murder, then maybe we can also find out the truth behind Sushant’s case,” KK Singh told ANI.
On March 19, Disha Salian’s father filed a petition in the Bombay High Court, urging an investigation into his daughter’s death and demanding the interrogation of UBT Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray.
Singh admitted he was unaware of the motivations behind Salian’s father’s decision to seek a fresh probe, especially since he had previously accepted the official conclusion of suicide.
“Earlier, he had said it was suicide, but now he has changed his stance. I don’t know what new information he has to claim otherwise. If it’s true or not, how can I say?” he added.
When asked if he believed there was a link between the deaths of his son and Disha Salian, Singh refrained from speculating.
“I cannot comment on something I don’t have knowledge about,” he said.
He also expressed trust in the current Maharashtra government, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and hoped for a fair and swift decision.
“I believe in the government. The leadership has changed, and I have faith in CM Devendra Fadnavis to do the right thing,” he remarked.
Disha Salian, a celebrity manager, was found dead on June 8, 2020. In 2023, the Mumbai Police formed a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to reinvestigate her death, which was initially registered as an accidental death case.
Six days later, on June 14, 2020, Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra residence. His passing sparked widespread controversy, leading to the case being transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). His postmortem report, conducted at Mumbai’s Cooper Hospital, confirmed the cause of death as asphyxia.
